MCP Chat

The MCP Chat feature adds an AI-powered chat panel to standard Business Central pages. It appears as a FactBox on the right side of many pages (e.g., Customer Card, Sales Order, Item List) and allows you to ask questions about the current record or perform actions using natural language.

How It Works

When enabled, the MCP Chat FactBox is available on most standard Business Central pages. The AI assistant has access to the current record's context and can answer questions about it, look up related information, or help you perform operations.

Supported Pages

The MCP Chat FactBox is added to the following standard pages (among others):

• Customer Card, Customer List
• Vendor Card, Vendor List
• Item Card, Item List
• Sales Order, Sales Invoice, Sales Quote, Sales Credit Memo
• Purchase Order, Purchase Invoice
• G/L Entries, Customer Ledger Entries, Vendor Ledger Entries
• Chart of Accounts
• Posted Sales Invoices, Posted Purchase Invoices
• Sales Order List, Purchase Order List
• Employee Card, Employee List
• Item Ledger Entries
• Resource List

Prerequisites

• MCP Chat must be enabled in your User Setup
• An API key or OAuth refresh token must be configured
• A Chat Role must be assigned to your user
